Three "new industries" - new materials, new energy and new food processing - are developing rapidly in Yinchuan, capital city of Northwest China's Ningxia Hui autonomous region.
From January to February this year, the total output value of the three industries reached more than 9 billion yuan ($1.41 billion), with a year-on-year increase of 27 percent, 33.5 percent and 18.3 percent, respectively.
This year, Yinchuan has planned the first batch of 52 projects of the three "new industries" with an annual planned investment of 29.19 billion yuan.
In 2021, the city proposed developing three "new industries" and striving to create 200-billion-yuan-level industrial clusters for new materials and new energy, and a 30-billion-yuan-level industrial cluster for the new food processing industry. It also called for building an influential new materials and green food production and processing base and new energy low-carbon demonstration park.
A number of leading enterprises in the photovoltaic industry have settled in Yinchuan, forming a whole industry chain for photovoltaic materials.
