Rural residents’ disposable income in Jinfeng district rises 6.6% in Q1

Jinfeng district of Yinchuan city, Ningxia Hui autonomous region achieved a per capita disposable income of 5,046 yuan ($776.2) for rural residents from January to March this year, a year-on-year increase of 6.6 percent.

Its income scale and growth rate ranked top among the three municipal districts in Yinchuan -- Xingqing, Xixia and Jinfeng -- and ranked second in the districts along the Yellow River, respectively 3.1 and 2 percentage points higher than the growth rate of GDP and urban residents' income. Its urban-rural residents' income ratio narrowed to 2.31, the smallest gap in the past five years.

To stabilize food production and supply, Jinfeng district has promoted spring plowing, sowing and management, strengthened material and technical support, and dispatched and reserved agricultural materials in a timely manner. In the first quarter, the sown area of spring wheat in Jinfeng district reached 2,200 mu (146.7 hectares).

Agricultural technicians have gone deep into the fields, guiding the masses in agricultural production and disaster response mechanism. Through strengthening the fertilizer management of seasonal vegetables and fruits and taking prevention and control measures of pests and diseases, Jinfeng district's agricultural growth potential has been vigorously stimulated and so is the yield of fruits and vegetables. In the first quarter, the planting area of fruits and vegetables reached 13,190 mu, an increase of more than 500 mu compared with the same period last year.

The regular prevention and control of major animal diseases have also been reinforced to steadily promote the production of stock farming. In the first quarter, there were 14,000 beef cattle and 39,800 mutton sheep sold from farms in Jinfeng district, an increase of 17.0 percent and 26.9 percent year-on-year.

Jinfeng district has focused on industrial construction and the employment in immigrant villages. It has won 41.91 million yuan of rural revitalization cohesion fund. To further extend the industrial chain, expand the employment room for rural residents and increase channels for them to get rich, Jinfeng district has set up 29 key projects in industries, infrastructure, employment and other fields. Projects such as “Runfeng accommodation and market”, “Strawberry Town” in Zhiwuyuan village and deep processing of white turnips in Jinxing village are promoted in an orderly way.

Centered on the key factors of agricultural material supply, seedling cultivation, production, cold chain, processing and sales, it has accelerated the implementation of 3,600 mu of high-standard farmland. It continuously promoted industrial construction in Liangtian town, strengthened the operation and management of the seedling base in Guangming village, Jubainong fruit and vegetable distribution and processing center in Jinxing village, and the sorting and trading market and facilities like storage and cold chain in Heshun new village. 2.jpg

Village collectives in Jinfeng district have successively carried out the dividend distribution from the village collective economy. The money paid for shares and bonuses has reached 3.8 million yuan since the beginning of this year.

Weijiaqiao village has distributed 1.3 million yuan of dividends to shareholders, with a dividend of 930 yuan per share, a record high. Furthermore, Jinfeng district has continued to implement the new cultivation project of agricultural business entities, developed a new family farm, two farmers' professional cooperatives, and cultivated two four-star demonstration cooperatives. 3.jpg

Jinfeng district has built a labor service station in Liangtian town and set up a labor service digital platform, holding nine online and offline job fairs and offering 2,140 positions, in which 704 people reached employment intentions with employers.

The aid policies for people with difficulties in finding jobs have been implemented and public welfare positions are set up for employment assistance. Free occupational skill training targeted at key populations like people who move from rural areas to urban areas to find jobs has been carried out 12 times, involving 586 people.

Jinfeng district has strengthened the efforts in terms of entrepreneurship guarantee loans and given out employment and entrepreneurship subsidies of some one million yuan for the population lifted out of poverty and about two million yuan of micro-credit.

From January to March, 2,381 rural laborers got employment in Jinfeng district, and their wage income combined reached 13.09 million yuan.
